The Blue365 program and sweepstakes!

Imagine how thrilled I was when after working for the same company for almost 30 years, I was offered an early retirement. I jumped at the chance! My employer always offered health insurance and I was able to keep my insurance from a Blue Company after I retired. Being a retiree without a paycheck every week means looking at life a little bit differently and taking advantage of bargains and great offers wherever they are available.

When I heard about the Blue365® program, I knew I had to check it out and see what would be interesting for me. Blue365 is a national program that’s available to members of participating Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Companies. It’s designed to help you stay healthy for less, by offering savings on a variety of fitness, nutrition, health, and wellness options. Blue365 offers discounts on programs that would help you in all areas of health and personal care, from companies like Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Dole, Reebok and Davis Vision, to name a few.

Got a lot of stress in your life? The eMindful program can help you manage stress and sustain a healthy state of mind.

With Blue365, you’ll have access to two types of deals: national offers and local deals with standing discounts (which you can redeem anytime you like) and exclusive, limited-time offers designed for living well. With its Groupon-like feature, you’ll find discounted services and products that aid in your healthy lifestyle choices. Members receive a weekly email with current featured discounts and the deals also get promoted on the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association’s Facebook page. Along with the beauty of Fall comes a chance for new beginnings and healthy routines. Now is a great time to think about shedding a few pounds before the holidays arrive.

With that in mind, I chose the Reebok deal from Blue365 and got a new pair of walking shoes at a great price, that I’ll be wearing on walks in the crisp Autumn air.

Staying healthy is about making good choices every day and Blue365 can help do that – jumpstart your new healthy life, try something new, and make healthy living fun. Blue365 is committed to helping their members live healthy, happy lives. Sign up for Blue365 to gain immediate access to deals at http://blue365deals.com/. If your Blue Company isn’t participating in Blue365 yet, you can still sign up and be notified when your Blue Company joins the Blue365 movement.

So tell me, how are you planning to stay fit through fall and the fast approaching holiday season?

Oh my! That’s a generous offer and why I waited so long for the page to load. Seems as if Blogher might be having difficulties today as I had similar problems at another Blogher site.

Well now, Deb, this is hunting season and I live in the woods. I hear shots all day long and it does not inspire me to go walking. I sometimes wait for Sundays when hunting is not allowed, but still the shots continue and so I am wary. Exercise consists of keying comments just now. ☺

I’ll be pushing my growing baby in the stroller. Our longest stroll so far has been 4 1/4 miles. Then it started getting dark and a little too cold for a 5 month old! Walking to the library (about 3 miles away) and then back will be another way. And we save gas money at the same time! win-win

I’m staying fit by introducing new exercises fit for the indoors, such as yoga, power yoga and light cardio (we already have snow, so yes, indoor exercise is a must!) On our warmer Fall/Winter days, I’ll be taking my usual walk!

I am also working on eating healthy, even during this season of sweets and carbs, and making sure I keep my immune system boosted with lots of vitamin C, my skin clean with antibacterial gel, etc!
