This week’s feature is Emily’s blog, The Wicker House. She describes her style as laid-back and lived in and she’s drawn to coastal, cottage and farmhouse styles.
She lives in a modest 3 bedroom 2 bath house that while not her dream house is a great place to raise her family and her home keeps her busy with projects. She’s created a home for her family that feels comfortable and very much a family abode.
A pretty vintage shelf in the entry holds treasures and collections.
Vintage cameras are her recent finds and she made the fantastic driftwood mirror!
In the living room, the fireplace display changes with the seasons. You need to check out the before and after shots of this fireplace. It’s amazing what paint can do.
Here’s another look for the fireplace.
In the living room, I love all the pillows on the red sectional, especially the plaid ones. It looks like a comfy place for the family to gather.
Her kitchen has undergone a transformation too and given a brighter look with painted cabinets and countertops.
Two pretty cabinets flank the table and provide storage and a place for pretty displays.
On the table, Emily put together this fun indoor picnic for her family.
Many of her grandmother’s straw hats hang on a piece of salvaged wood above her bed. I think this is a great idea, such a pretty look too and a wonderful memento of a loved one.
She made this unique shower curtain out of a bed sheet and used pieces of a white towel for the Swiss cross.
I‘m ending this post with Emily’s Christmas display from last year to get you inspired for the fast approaching holiday season! It will be here before you know it!
Go on over to The Wicker House to say hi and feast your eyes on all of Emily’s projects and pretty vignettes!
