Create a backyard Bouquet

Fall is such a beautiful time of year when every plant puts on a show. Why not take advantage of nature’s gift and make a backyard bouquet! I was inspired to do just that by my favorite magazine, Southern Living. Featured in the September issue was this stunning bouquet made from backyard clippings.

For my version, I used an old galvanized bucket, put a plastic container in it, then covered that with chicken wire to hold the stems in place.

The water is blue because I added Miracle-Gro thinking it might help keep my bouquet fresh looking.

I gathered my clippings and smashed the stems of the woody branches to help them soak up water.

Then I started adding the flowers in a loose arrangement, trying to create drifts of color instead of one flower here, one there.

Autumn joy sedum, barberry bush, butterfly bush, celosia and some others that I don’t remember the names of were all clipped from the yard.

It’s so pretty, I can’t stop looking at it!

The colors of Autumn are amazing!  I’m keeping my arrangement on the patio so I can see it from the kitchen.

You could create a bouquet just from greenery and I bet that would be pretty too!

Hope you enjoy the beauty of Fall.

I have so busy around here lately, I don’t know what got into me! I’ve been cleaning out closets and getting rid of junk that was in the shed and even cleaning the shed. I’m determined to have everything neat and organized around here, Do you ever get like that? Could it be hormonal fluctuations or just a change in the atmosphere? What ever…my house will be organized!
