My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia is Kristin’s blog and today’s feature. She has a very handy husband, 3 boys, lives in San Diego and has a great love of DIY. Here’s a little look into all they’ve done to turn their little slice of suburbia into their dream home.
They’ve completed several projects in their kitchen to get it looking like this.

They painted the oak cabinets and added height for a custom look.
The island got a new custom look with the addition of legs and glass was added to some cabinet doors. I really like the look of the island and am thinking of doing the same at my house. There are some ugly shelves there now that are just catching dust. I could remove them and add some pretty legs. This could be my winter project.
Here’s a look into the beautiful and spacious great room.
This gorgeous loft office space is shared with the kids as a tv room. Make sure to check out all the before and afters on her blog. You won’t believe the transformations!
What a good idea, you can keep an eye on the kiddos when you work on the computer or vice-versa.
The master bedroom looks so inviting, like a place where you can really relax and snuggle with your four legged friend. I love the feel of this room with all the patterns and soft textures.
I could do some serious sleeping in this space.
A pretty blue is in the guest room and Kristin share all her paint colors on her blog.
On the patio, drop cloth panels block the sunlight and turn it into an outdoor room. The potting bench is a workbench her husband made 10 years ago. It works perfectly for holding pots and looks pretty too.

So there’s the little tour of Kristen’s home, My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, now go over and say Hi ![]()

Charming and elegant. Not inspired as such because my home is much, much different; however, I do feel a great admiration for their ability to make their home such a beautiful one. It takes talent!
You are so sweet to feature my blog, thank you so much!!!! Have a fabulous weekend.
