The evolution of our Patio

Our patio has evolved into a space that we use more than we would’ve ever believed. It’s become an extension of our home and an outdoor room that we love. Click here to see how the patio has changed through the years. We have our morning coffee here, eat most of our meals, watch tv and take lots of naps. Sometimes I lounge about with a good book and if the light isn’t too bright I can use the computer.

This year we decided to add some really comfy furniture. I think it’s the most comfortable furniture I ever sat on.  Slept on too!

The collection is Cortland from the Woodward furniture company and the color is Spa. The stool, which my husband uses as an ottoman, was from Tuesday morning and I recovered it with some fabric I had. Because if the crescent shape of the sofa, I’m looking for a small round  coffee table.

With all the aquas and greens on the patio, it fits right in.

Behind the sofa you can see the old patio set. That thing is over 20 years old and has been painted black two times now. It was white originally and the cushions have been replaced many times. We decided to replace it with an oblong set when we find one at a decent price.

The chandelier isn’t wired, it recycled and adorned with twigs and branches. I can add led candles for a soft glow.

fridge

Across from the sofa is a tv and small fridge. Somehow I ended up with 2 old style tvs, but they both work great, so we have a spare tv when this one goes bad.  I’m on the lookout for something to hold both the tv and fridge. Something big since the furniture is so big. You can see a glimpse of my swing and I still love it!

I gathered some fresh cut flowers from the yard and put them in a pretty old mason jar.

On the other side is the old yardsale patio set.

The rugs are from overstock.com. I have plans to replace that light fixture by the door.

These urns are so old and beat up but I just spray them black every year and they are good to go. I like to plant shrubs in the urns for height, sometimes they live for a few years.

That’s the patio tour 2012!  Hope you liked it and enjoy your outdoor space as much as I do.Smile

Debbie- Your patio is beautiful. I wish ours was covered but it is an open air patio on the back of our house. We have some shade until mid afternoon and then it is like a mini-Hades out there.

Yours looks classy and wonderful…and soooo comfortable. If I ever visit you will have a hard time pulling me off that furniture!;>) xo Diana
