Read all about it here. The Haven conference is a great experience and I can’t believe all the wonderful sponsors! Our swag bags were filled with goodies like Annie Sloan chalk paint and a Purdy brush, just to name a few and there were so many more goodies.
Here’s a shot just before the welcome session.

Rhoda, the brains behind the conference and a sweet lady.

The talented Haven team who pulled it all together.

The key note speakers John and Sherry from Young House love. They were so much fun!

Part of their presentation.

A session about blog PR. These ladies really knew their stuff and gave out tons of info.

And the vendor’s displays; Frog tape

This lucky gal won a quart of paint from Annie Sloan chalk paint.

Minwax

Kreg jigs. We got one of these sweet tools in our swag bag too

and Rustoleum.
Great stuff, great people and tons of info. After day one of the conference I’m exhausted and this hotel has the most comfy beds. More pics coming soon.
If you read the previous post about my traveling fiasco to the Haven2012 conference, here are all the fun details. I traveled from Harrisburg, PA to Charlotte, NC without any glitches, but the flight from there to Atlanta was cancelled! My jaw dropped, now what? Most of us got rerouted on a plane to Columbia SC, but the flight out of there to Atlanta GA was delayed due to a hydraulic problem. We were told it would be about 2 hrs. Gritting my teeth…..the 2 hour delay turned into a 4 hour delay. Finally the airline got us on a flight to Atlanta! Instead of arriving around 11:00 I arrived around 5:00. I was hot and exhausted!
Now the next step was trying to find my bag. Was it with Delta or US Air? The last flight I was on was Delta. Delta said it was at US Air and US Air said vice versa! I was just about ready to explode but some nice employee from Delta helped find it.
I spilled coffee on my blouse and had to change it in one of the airport restrooms. Thank goodness I had a blouse in my carry on. The hotel told me my credit card was declined. I got all that straightened out and made it to Haven and that makes me happy!
Good night, I’m ready to jump into that big comfy bed.
Thanks for visiting! Debbie (((xx)))

Except for your traveling fiasco, Debbie, it sounds like the first day was a great one! After reading everyone’s posts about Haven, I put in a reminder in my online calendar for next year to make sure I look into going.

Oh my gosh, Debbie! That was truly a traveling fiasco! You probably could have driven and arrived about the same time. So glad you made it.
