This week I’m featuring Holly’s blog, Life a as a Thrifter. She was once a kindergarten teacher and is now a stay at home mom to a busy toddler. Her obsession with thrifting has enabled her to create a home that is lively, bright and so welcoming! She’s created so many beautiful, unique things from cast off pieces. In her words,
I got on an orange and green kick long before we bought the house, and I’m happy to say, I still love it today. (You’ll see even more of this in the kitchen.) There’s something about bright colors that have always made me feel good . . . they’re fun and energetic.
Take a look at the color that welcomes you as soon as you enter.
These pops of bright color make me want to explore and see more.
You immediately sense that this gal has a unique style.
I personally love everything about this orange kitchen but understand that bright colors are not for everyone.
This area is the breakfast nook, now used as a pretty sitting area and the formal dining room is the informal dining area. Bright color everywhere! I love the bold print on the chairs.
What happy spaces! Notice the little chair on the buffet.
A 15 dollar bench was spray painted with chalk paint and is now a very kid friendly coffee table.
More color in the laundry room and notice the wooden hangers holding photos. Great idea!
In the master, 85% of the room was decorated with thrift shop finds or handmade items. That’s pretty impressive! The Mr. and Mrs. mirror above the bed was created with a dry erase marker.
Baby Talk magazine featured her adorable nursery and I’ll bet it’s been pinned a million times!
Life as a Thrifter certainly shows us how to bring your personality into your home to create your own style. Are you inspired? There’s lots more on her blog, go take a look!
With so many great blogs all over the blog-o-sphere, Friday Feature is a way to showcase other bloggers while gaining lots of decorating inspiration. If you have a project or makeover that you think is feature worthy, please email me or leave a comment.
Boy is it hot outside! If I had a pool I’d be in it! I’ve been working on my cabinet project and finishing up little projects inside, painting a bathroom vanity and hanging stuff on the walls in the family room. My slipcovers for the family room chairs are finally done and I’ll be posting them soon. I started redecorating this room in January…..I’m a slow decorator but still chugging along.
Thanks for visiting! Debbie (((xx)))
