This week’s Friday Feature is Suzanne’s blog, Meridian Road. She lives on a farm that’s been in her husband’s family for 90 years. She loves old things, and re purposing and so do I!
Click on pictures to be taken to the original source. A nail caddy that she found in the barn becomes a base for flower filled mason jars.
Here’s a look at her kitchen, once dark and dreary, now transformed into a light and bright space, complete with farm house sink and wooden counter tops. I’m noticing wooden counter tops more and more. It’s a warmer look than granite but most of us with $$granite will have it for a long time! Through the kitchen you can see a glimpse of her laundry room.
The laundry room walls are clad in cheap, painted wooden planks trimmed out with lattice strips. Notice all the vintage pieces in this room. I’m loving that metal basket!
This beautiful cabinet was salvaged by her dad and husband and now displays its chippy beauty in the dining area. I sure wish I had space in my home for lovely vintage finds as big as this.
Another salvaged item is this chicken crate turned coffee table.
She spotted these lockers at an antique store but was unable to get them home in the car and a year later, this time in their truck, she was finally able to get them. She got there just as the seller was getting ready to cut them in half. Lots of extra storage space instantly!
More of her found treasures and salvaged items create this pretty fireplace vignette.
Here’s a peek at the master bedroom and bath.

What a gorgeous bathroom! The tin ceiling, wall color and tile choices are beautiful together.
More of her handiwork is seen here in these barn style shutters that she made.
Would you have ever guessed that this lovely home on Meridian Road is a modular home? It just goes to show what can be achieved with determination and hard work. Go take a look, there are lots more inspiring photos of her decorating style on Meridian Road.
With so many great blogs all over the blog-o-sphere, Friday Feature is a way to showcase other bloggers while gaining lots of decorating inspiration. If you have a project or makeover that you think is feature worthy, please email me or leave a comment.
